So you've discovered the amazing possibilities with natural healing by adding homeopathy to your doggy pharmacy. And now you're wondering, "How the heck do I even give these little round pellets to my dog?"
There are actually several ways depending on your dog, and you can turn it into a quiet, relaxing moment for both of you instead of a stressful battle of wills.
Try one of the methods below and just follow the simple steps!
Putting the pellets directly in your dog's mouth:
Rinse and dry your hands, have your dog lie down, and spend a few minutes petting him calmly until he relaxes.
Open the bottle and tap 3 pellets into the cap.
Using your free hand, gently pet the side of your dog's face, lift his lip gently, then just tip the cap onto his gums. Let go of his lip and just keep petting him.
Don't worry if he doesn't leave them there to dissolve and instead chews them. They'll still work.
Even if he spits them out, if they stayed in his mouth for a few short moments, they'll still be effective.
Adding them to some milk
If your dog won't let you handle his mouth or head, crush the pellets with the back of a spoon and dissolve them in some dairy or soy milk.
Offer the milk to lap up. If he doesn't drink it all up, that's OK, it will still work. Just remove what he doesn't drink.
Split water dosing
Sometimes the healing crisis can cause a temporary aggravation of symptoms. To avoid this, you can do a split water dose.
Put 3 to 5 pellets in 8 ounces (240 ml) of fresh, spring (or filtered) water.
Let the pellets dissolve for 10 minutes.
Shake the solution vigorously and pour 2 tablespoons into your dog's mouth using a syringe. You can also pour that amount into a small dish.
Store the remaining solution in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Shake well before each use.
Continue to give the solution until the condition improves.
You should now have a good understanding on how to give homeopathic remedies to your dog. Easy peasy, right?
